SEED2S implements a comprehensive service plan that goes beyond traditional support measures. With a collaborative approach, we address unique challenges and create opportunities for data science students. We continuously refine our model to address the evolving challenges students face. In doing so, we remain steadfast in our dedication to providing exceptional support and cultivating a transformative college experience for all.
Services Offered for Students
For First-Year Students:
- Workshops: Culturally relevant programs equip students with strategies to strengthen skills and tap into their drive to achieve their goals.
- Peer Mentoring: Trained peer mentors assist students in navigating challenges, exploring opportunities, and making informed decisions.
- Outreach Initiatives: Targeted outreach to foster a sense of belonging and community, increasing student engagement and persistence.
- Individualized Development Plan (IDP): Tailored success plans outlining clear objectives, deadlines, and actionable steps to achieve their goals.
For Continuing and Transfer Students:
- Guided Pathways: A structured framework to support students, offering personalized guidance in course selection, resource identification, and career exploration, ensuring a seamless transition and smooth progression toward graduation.
Community Engagement (Optional for Students):
- Success Meetings: At the request of a student, meetings address life logistics barriers that hinder success, providing valuable support beyond academic needs.
